Agricultural Product Export Process

Currently, the export of agricultural products is in a boom period due to the increasing quality of Vietnamese agricultural products and many world markets have accepted the import of Vietnamese agricultural products. So when there are good agricultural products in hand and the import market is welcoming, what should Vietnamese enterprises do to export agricultural products smoothly and bring profits to their company?

Procedures and processes for exporting agricultural products

Step 1: Check whether agricultural products have been accepted by the importing country?

  • This is important because not all agricultural products are accepted.
  • You must check both sides to be sure, otherwise there will be a fee to have experience for this problem.

Step 2: Export procedures, quarantine, etc.

  • Although agricultural products are allowed to be imported into the partner's market, the product must still satisfy the requirements of the importing country. Eg:

    • The product must be irradiated
    • Must plant quarantine
    • Must have been harvested from a qualified growing area.
    • Must check product quality, plant protection drug content,
    • How to pack goods into boxes/packaging to ensure proper standards, no damage to goods.
  • In addition, for some products that are fresh and must be refrigerated in transit, you will have to pay more attention such as:

    • Time to harvest is enough
    • Closing time
    • Time for customs clearance / phytosanitary / irradiation / fumigation / making C / O, ...
    • Delivery time

All must fit together to ensure the goods are not damaged and the goods are of the best quality.

  • This step must be noted is:

    • Avoid electricity charges for refrigerated containers when delivering goods
    • If you do not do well, you may lose your goods, this is very tiring, not only will you lose money to buy, but also incur a lot of other costs that when you look at it, you will be shocked (cost of handling damaged goods, costs of storing containers waiting for goods to be processed, shipping costs to Vietnam, etc.)
  • This is a complicated and risky stage, you should consult or hire support service parties, so you can ensure a better order.

Step 3: Necessary documents for export

  • BILL
  • INVOICE
  • PACKING LIST
  • CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY / QUANLITY
  • PHYTOSANITARY
  • FUMIGATION
  • CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN

So, knowing the process of exporting agricultural products above, you can confidently bring your products to the world market.
